Trewortha Bronze Age Farm.

A two-day group event celebrating the mastery of the Bronze Age sword smiths, whilst exploring the manufacture of bronze swords in the late Bronze Age, Each participant will work on their own sword over the two days, cleaning, polishing, forging blade edges and riveting handles.

There will also be a series of experiments casting bronze swords in clay moulds and sword furnishings. The event will be run at Trewortha Bronze age farm on Bodmin moor, bronze swords in a Bronze Age landscape.

The cost of the workshop includes a bronze sword, feast on Saturday night and Bronze Age entertainment, and cooked breakfast Sunday morning and camping.


Anni Brøgger (Egtved Girl)

As part of the evening’s entertainment we are very pleased to welcome Anni Brøgger. Anni will give her talk on the “Egtved Girl”. The talk closes with a performance of her ritual and fertility dance wearing a precise replica of the costume found in the “Egtved Girl” burial. The Egtved Girl burial is one of the most enigmatic bronze age burials.

Camping is available on site with shower and toilet facilities. The nearest railway station is Liskeard, Southeast Cornwall.


The cost of the workshop is £180 and you can reserve your place with a non-returnable £40 deposit with the balance being paid by August 1st 2005
